Hungarian was the first language she learned and was regularly practiced to achieve fluency. Bruckner is a Californian from Hollywood born daughter of a Hungarian father and a Russian mother. Her maternal grandparents were German. The couple met in Hungary and relocated into the U.S. in 1984 through an asylum camp in Italy. There are two of her siblings as well as a younger brother.
